The Too-Busy Book by Linda Andersen
- Slowing Down to Catch Up With Life
Here is your invitation to exchange busyness for bounty. I love this collection of reflections, journaling questions and practical helps written in short little "chapters" that make it easy to read here and there in your busy life.
Linda Andersen's writing style is unique (and sort of poetic) and a nice change from the usual. And her "food for thought" has been a great guide to helping me actually slow down. I'm on my 3rd read.
Doctrinally: Linda Andersen uses Biblical encouragement to encourage a slower life with more time in The Word. There are a few moments when she takes out of context, but these are easy to spot and there are very few of them.

Jesus, Our Family Guest by Joslyn Moldstad
- 100 Devotions For Families of All Ages
I started these devotions with my boys this summer and we are enjoying them. 10, 8, and 5 years old, my boys have found something to discuss with each short, 2-3 page devotion.
A few of the situations and dialogues seem a little stiff and unreal, but for the most part I am appreciating them. Truth be told, there are a few I'll probably skip because I don't care for how the "situation" is discussed or handled, but that's only 3 or 4 out of 100.
